Since I gave 2 shits about blogging but here I am taking a second crack at it. This is my personal blog, for anyone that doesn’t know me I run Jasfy Belize, a small clothing line based on everyday ready to wear stuff. I also have a lot of other interests but my major interest is promoting Belizean Artisans. Not because of money, or any political affiliate but only for the want and love of helping others. Anyone who has been in Belize for more than 2 days will realize it lacks organization more than anything. So this is me trying to bring some organization and exposure to Belizean Artisans.

The Belize National Song Competition is becoming a symbol of Belizean talent and pride. It’s great to see upcoming and established artists getting a chance to shine on the same stage. BZHypeMeter favourites Denise Castillo is in the Patriotic Song Category and her entry ‘My Sweet Belize’ is a beautiful melodic entry that is defineitly one of the favourites. While another BZHypeMeter regular, Floyd Lacayo and TY combine for an entry in Carnival Song category. Other favourites like Ernestine Carballo, Supa-G, Berne and Boss Lady have excellent entries in the Carnival Category which will make finiding a winner near impossible but all songs submitted are worthy of your time. Most importantly this is a moment where Belizean music takes the forefront. The songs  are excellent, oozing quality and creativity. So take a listen and vote here.

I took a trip to Caye Caulker last week, was fun to get out the City for  a day; however, the plane ride is not the most enjoyable ten minutes you will ever spend. But check out the cool pictures from the trip below. The weather, sand , water and people are beautiful.

Usually, the only music you hear from Belizean artists are singles from their albums but lately more and more Belizean Artists are doing mixtapes to get their names out. Free Music! great for those of you who don’t like to pay. So here are some new tracks from TY, K-illa, Domino and D-Whisper for your listening and download pleasure.

Just Go from K-illa is one of my favourite joints for the past month, it goes hard and is an excellent track to follow up his radio hit Swagger Man.

Never Get Enough from D.Whisper. Expect to hear a lot in the future from this Belizean artists, who sings, raps and makes mega hits.

Carnival Again from TY. This is something different from TY for the upcoming Carnival Season in Belize and was produced by Reddz the Mastapiece, leader of the new sound in Belize.

New Girl from Domino. Domino is kind of the exception to my rule (promoting strictly Belizean content) in that he is actually from Greneda but he has lived in Belize for several years now and went to Highschool here so it’s cool; plus he knows how to make smooth hits.
